Canvas and frames, sculpted surfaces and antique veneers are all vulnerable to pressure, vibration and temperature swings. A general moving crew often cannot tell where a gilded frame can safely be gripped, or how a marble tabletop needs to be secured while it is in motion.

That is why every fine art move gets planned on its own: we assess the size, weight and fragility of each piece, and the layout of doorways and stairwells, before a single box is sealed. This preparation cuts the risk of damage at loading, in transit and at delivery.

Paintings travel wrapped in acid-free tissue and padding, secured upright in purpose-built frames so the canvas never touches another surface. Sculptures and fragile objects are packed into crates built to their exact dimensions, with internal bracing that stops movement during lifting or transport.

For pieces sensitive to heat or humidity, we offer a climate-controlled transport option that reduces the effect of outside temperature swings for the full journey. Packing materials and crate interiors are always matched to the material and condition of the individual piece.

Before a move, we prepare a written condition report noting existing scratches, wear and other features, so there is a clear reference point if a question arises later. The same report is checked again on delivery, giving both sides a clear record of the piece condition before and after.

Transport is covered by itemised insurance matched to the value of the piece, rather than a generic household policy. We also work with private collectors, galleries and auction houses on request, adapting our process to their documentation requirements, with insurance figures and details agreed in writing beforehand.
